About Dr. Ignacio Valdes
A double board-certified Psychiatrist, Dr. Ignacio Valdes has been practicing since 2002. He is a Board Certified Diplomate of the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. He is an Attending Physician, Chief Medical Officer (CMO) and Chief Medical Informatics Officer (CMIO) for many practice locations such as Blue Bonnet Clinic, Daystars Partial Hospitalization Program and more.
He is a third generation independent physician and started Blue Bonnet Clinic over 15 years ago.
Before medical school, Dr. Valdes worked for such companies as IBM both as a NASA contractor and private commercial contractor. He also worked for Compaq, and other startup Health IT companies. He is privileged to have served Veterans at the Michael E Debakey Veterans Affairs hospital in Houston, Texas using the VistA EHR. He has extensive scientific training and practice as a Brain Imaging Fellow and healthcare informatics. Dr. Valdes is Founder and CEO of Astronaut, LLC., an electronic health record company established in 2009.
Dr. Valdes is a board member of The Catholic League for the Poor of Nigeria. Dr. Valdes drives, refurbishes, maintains, and builds antique cars. He is an Assistant Scout Master at his local Scouts BSA 211 troop.

Esther | Nurse Practitioner
Esther Ajayi, APRN, PMHNP, FNP-C, joined Blue Bonnet Clinic in February 2019. She enjoys working with individuals with disabilities.Before Blue Bonnet Clinic, she worked as a registered nurse/case manager with a few home and community-based services. She's also worked at Kindred Hospital - Heights as a registered nurse for six years.

Jenny | Clinical Director
Ms. Jenny Salvador graduated from CMA school in 2006. She has a strong passion for helping others; especially children and patients in mental health. Ms. Salvador has worked in the psychiatry field since 2012 and is a key asset to Dr. Valdes’ practice.
At Blue Bonnet Clinic, Ms. Salvador manages the PHP, performs clinical documentation and supervises staff. She is also supports the doctors and clinicians with their daily needs. She handles a myriad of tasks including: screening patients, drawing blood, giving injections, and completing drug screens. Ms. Salvador is the quarterback of the clinical team and leads with integrity and commitment.
In her free time, Ms. Salvador enjoys gardening, spending time with her kids, and finding quiet time for meditation.

Janet Blazek Valdes | Chief People Officer Blue Bonnet Clinic | President Astronaut EHR
Ms. Valdes has a distinguished career as a trusted human resources executive. She brings over fifteen years of experience in human resources in the financial services and legal industries. With this depth of knowledge and experience, Janet joins Blue Bonnet Clinic in Houston, Texas.
Recently, Valdes was the Director of Human Capital of a premier, mid-sized litigation firm, Quilling, Selander, Lownds, Winslet and Moser in Dallas, Texas. Valdes was the Director of Human Capital for Carter Advisory Services and Carter Financial Management: An Independent Registered Investment Advisor with $1.3 billion AUM. Additionally, Valdes was the Director of Human Capital for Integrated Financial Solutions Group. Valdes began her career at Goldman Sachs in New York City as a financial analyst. She has a bachelor’s degree from Harvard University.
As a Board Member of The Catholic League for the Poor of Nigeria, Valdes helps raise funds to build a 130-bed medical, surgical hospital and mental health facility with a US-Nigeria Medical Student Exchange Program.
Ms. Valdes is new to Houston and enjoys spending time with her family and friends.
